January 28, 2015

Welcome to my blog, which I'm calling Scene/Seen. This blog is a place for me to share images of scenes that catch my eye, mainly observations of the urban landscape—broadly defined. This introductory post, though, is illustrated by a picture of me, taken in Rio de Janeiro a few years ago, by my husband—and stalwart traveling companion—Sy Adler. My first "real" post (coming right up) is about the walking tour we took of some favelas —informal settlements—surrounding Rio.
